ILS International Law and Practice Course 2026 | May – November 2026, Sydney and Online

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

I've registered as an online participant. Is it also possible to attend a session in-person?

Absolutely!

If you find that you can attend a session in-person, even though you have registered as an "online" participant, you are more than welcome to do so. Simply contact the ILS at ils@lawcouncil.au to let us know (this will assist in confirming final numbers for each session and any catering).

I'm in a vastly different time-zone to Sydney, whilst I'll make every attempt to attend each session via the Zoom link, there may be a session that I can't attend. Are the sessions also recorded and accessible after the event?

Yes, each session is recorded and loaded on the ILS member portal for viewing by members at any time.

Can I claim CPD points for attending the ILS Practice Course?

It is the responsibility of the individual member to determine whether CPD points can be earned for an attendance of an event hosted by the Sections of the Law Council of Australia, as the mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) requirements vary between each State and Territory. Please refer to your relevant State and Territory Law Society in advance of the event for further information.

Is it possible to purchase individual Course sessions?

The ILS International Law and Practice Course is designed as full program incorporating seven individual sessions.

As a rule, we don't offer the option to purchase individual course sessions. But this does not mean we won't consider it on a case by case basis. If you would like to try your luck at purchasing a single session, please contact the ILS at ils@lawcouncil.au. This will be at the discretion of the ILS.
